the life cycle of your garment
test lifecycle
What ever you're wearing, jeans,T-shirt or a lovely guna dress.. it has come along way through a complicated system to finally get into your wardrobe.

Those jeans you love might be made of cotton picked in Africa, spun in India then made in China with a zip from Taiwan rivets from Bangladesh and labels from Europe. (Phew!)

But at every stage in this system there are examples of environmental, social and economic imbalance. This means that at every stage people and the environment they live in are suffering.

This is a great exploration of  where all our stuff comes from, why we feel we need to have it and where it all goes when we're done with it.
It can sometimes be overwhelming trying to think about it all but to help a little we have put together this simple diagram that shows the different impacts of each stage in the life of your garment.

You can also look deeper into each stage by following the icons below.
What do your clothes say about you?
Fashion, whether you're 'into it' or not is an unavoidable part of life. We all wear clothes, (you'd get some funny looks if you didn't!) but we rarely think about the what, how and why of clothing in general.

Through out this website we hope to give you an insight into the real face of fashion and equip you with some facts and figures that tell an unfortunate and bleak story.

But we also hope to equip you with enough knowledge about the alternatives so the next time you walk out the door your clothes are telling a different story!

change more than your clothes.
